I love to photograph weddings! I mean, who wouldn’t? A wedding day is a major event in a person’s life. It’s a day when your friends and family get together with you to celebrate and share in one of the happiest moments that can happen to a couple. As a photographer, being able to share in and be a contributor toward making that day perfect, well, that’s just awesome! One of the most satisfying feelings I get in my profession is watching newlyweds’ faces when they come to my studio and they see their wedding photos for the first time. The smiles and the “Oh Wow!”s make my day! I shoot with a candid style. I feel this type of photography is the most enjoyable for the participants. It lets the Bride and Groom spend the maximum amount of time visiting with their friends while still accomplishing my goal of creating a photographic rendition of the day’s events. Yes, there are still traditional, posed shots. They are generally done after the ceremony at the church and include your wedding party groupings, parents, and family shots. I don’t like to keep your guests waiting, so with everyone’s cooperation I can usually get these shots done in about 30 – 45 minutes. The primary camera body I use is a
Nikon D2x. This is one of Nikon's professional models, and it has
a 12 megapixel sensor. The image files created by this camera can
be used to create 10 X 15 prints without the need for any enhancement,
and much larger with enhancement. I always bring full back-up equipment, including
camera bodies, lenses and flashes. I generally work alone, but when
possible I will have an assistant. |
